Flat pattern for laser cutting
The flat blank of a bent part — with the correct bend allowance. For laser-cutting and press-brake shops and for designers of bent covers, brackets and trays.
Example
Example · a U-shaped cover from 2 mm sheet
Without bend allowance the blank would be 8.6 mm too long
- Thickness and bend radius come from the drawing, the K-factor from the r/s ratio (or your shop's bend table).
- The flat length is checked against the allowance formula to 0.001 mm.
- Every flat pattern is “re-folded” in 3D and compared with the part model: a stray hole or a wrong K is caught immediately.
What you get
- Outline DXF 1:1 mm for the laser — closed contours, cutting only
- DXF with bend lines (up/down) and a bend table: angle, radius, K
- 3D model of the bent part (STEP)
- Notes: e.g. a hole too close to a bend — it can't be bent without a relief slot
Honest limitations
- The final size after bending depends on your shop's tooling: ±0.06–0.45 mm — send your bend table and we'll use it
- Not supported: hems, louvers, embosses, rolling, cones
- We don't add corner reliefs on our own — we'll suggest them as a question
